Week of May 4th 2020
To all members,
Hope this email finds you well, lots of information to share this week so I’ll get right to it!
Curb-side pick up:
Great news this week! The Ontario government is allowing all retail stores with a street entrance to provide curbside pickup as of Monday May 11
th at 12:01am. This was previously a grey area for non-essential businesses so we are pleased to see this official announcement:

It is strongly recommended that those of you who will be offering curbside pick up and delivery adhere to the health and safety guidelines outlined by the Province:

Downtown Orangeville Online Marketplace:
Set-up is complete, and I have begun sending out invitations for members to add their own shop details, products, and begin selling online. It’s looking fantastic so far! If you indicated to me that you were interested in joining, you should receive your login and password information by end of day on Monday. If you have not received an email from me by then, please let me know!
It’s not too late to join, please get in touch if you have something to sell on the Marketplace, whether it be gift cards, products, or services – or if you simply want to link to your existing shop. It’s going to be awesome for Orangeville residents to find so many of their favourite downtown businesses in one convenient place!
Little York Street:
Closure of the street is set to begin on Monday (May 11th 2020).
Downtown Transit Hub
A few weeks ago, Alison emailed you about Council’s decision to relocate the downtown transit hub from its’ current location on Fourth Street at Broadway, to Broadway immediately west of First Street, thereby eliminating a total of 11 parking spaces. If you have comments or concerns regarding this decision, please email the Town Clerk directly (
clerksdept@orangeville.ca) or participate in Monday’s Council meeting electronically. Details on how to participate in the Council Meeting can be found here:

Farmers' Market
The start of the
Orangeville Farmers' Market has been delayed due to Covid-19. We are currently working on a plan with Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health and the Town of Orangeville to create a modified market that we hope to very launch soon. The tentative start date is Saturday May 16th. The emphasis will be on picking up essential items that have been purchased online ahead of time, there will be no in-market shopping. More details will be posted soon, you can visit
www.orangevillefarmersmarket.ca for the most up to date information.
