If you plan to be open on the Civic Holiday, don’t forget to let your customers know via your website and social media and tag us in your posts before the end of this week so that we can get the word out!

2021 Special Events Update

Due to the ever-changing nature of Covid-19, the OBIA Board decided to take a cautious approach to events for the remainder of 2021.  Taste of Orangeville will not take place this year, however BIA staff are working on scaled-down/modified plans for the fall/winter that will act as 2021 substitutes for Harvest Celebration and Moonlight Magic.  We will share information about these modified events/promotions as soon as we can.  In the meantime, we are always in the market for great ideas, so please send them our way!

Broadway Music Series!

In partnership with Leisa Way and Way to Go Productions, Downtown Orangeville will be hosting a live music mini-concert series at 11:30 am – 12:30pm for 6 weeks, every Saturday between July 24th – August 28th. The one-hour concerts will take place in front of the Town Hall/Opera House at 87 Broadway and will feature local, professional musicians.

This concert series is generously funded by the Music Performance Trust Fund and the Toronto Musicians Association.  Please note that anyone stopping to enjoy the music is required to follow public health’s social distancing/masking guidelines.

Please share the exciting line-up with your customers on social media!  We want to bring lots of people out on Saturdays to shop, dine & enjoy the music!

Important Reminder – 2 Hour Parking Limit Downtown

On April 1st, the Town of Orangeville resumed enforcement of downtown’s 2-hour limit for on-street parking.  Vehicles parked on the street in excess of 2 hours may be ticketed and enforcement will be in effect at all times, including evenings and weekends.

Please encourage your customers to park in one of downtown’s conveniently located, FREE public parking lots should they plan to stay downtown for longer than 2 hours.

We have created a parking poster that you can display to notify your customers.  If you haven’t already received yours, please get in touch with us to request one or you can print your own copy here.

You can view a map of the free public parking lots here.

Summer Sidewalk Sale

We need YOUR feedback!  Are you interested in participating in a Sidewalk Sale during the last week of August (August 25th -28th)?    Maybe you have some summer inventory to clear out to make way for Fall merchandise? Or perhaps, instead of a “sale” you want to highlight some of your best-selling products, hold a raffle, food tasting, or set up a selfie station?   As long as you have something to feature on the sidewalk, you can participate!

Promotion for the Sidewalk Sale will only run if enough members let us know they are participating, so please email ambassador@downtownorangeville.ca to sign up or share your comments/suggestions.

Thanks everyone, enjoy the long weekend ahead!
