Easter Egg Hunt Contest, OBIA Blade Sign Grant Program Update, Green Ribbon Campaign and more
Easter Egg Hunt Contest
Our Downtown Easter Egg Hunt Contest kicks off Friday March 19th and runs until Easter Monday, April 5th at 5pm. Kids and their families will bring their clue card downtown (available online here and in-person at Mill Creek Gardens) and hunt for eggs in shop windows. It’s a fun and safe activity for everyone! Once participants have successfully located all 12 eggs, they’ll take a picture of their completed clue card and send it to us: Info@downtownorangeville.ca to be entered to win a large Easter gift basket!
Special thanks to the Chocolate Shop for supplying us with a giant chocolate bunny for the basket! We are asking our members to please LIKE and SHARE the Easter Egg Hunt contest with their followers so that we can bring lots of people out to enjoy our beautiful downtown & take part in this self-guided activity! Keep an eye on our Facebook page this Friday afternoon for the share-able post! https://www.facebook.com/downtownoville
OBIA Blade Sign Grant Program Update
Thank you to everyone who has reached out with questions and sent in their applications for the OBIA Blade Sign Grant Program. Thanks to your valuable feedback, we have updated the application to make it more user-friendly, including some helpful FAQ’s and a list of local sign companies. As before, it is important to note that this process STARTS and ENDS with the BIA. We will work with you from the initial consultation to the final stages to ensure that your design meets the criteria, the appropriate permits are obtained, and your application is approved!
The OBIA Blade Sign Grant Program offers a simplified sign permit process and a reduced permit fee. Successful applicants will be awarded up to $635 CAD for the purchase and installation of a new blade sign. Contact us to get started today! firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
The updated application is available here: https://downtownorangeville.ca/wp-content/uploads/Blade-Sign-Grant-Application-Document-FAQs-March-2021.pdf
(please note that if you have already begun the process, the older version of the application will still be accepted!)
Please share with your customers that on April 1st, the Town of Orangeville will resume enforcement of downtown’s 2-hour limit for on-street parking. Vehicles parked on the street in excess of 2 hours may be ticketed and enforcement will be in effect at all times, including evenings and weekends.
Please encourage your customers to park in one of downtown’s conveniently located, FREE public parking lots should they plan to stay downtown for longer than 2 hours.
We have created a parking poster that you can display to notify your customers. The volunteer team from Branching Out Support Services has already begun distributing the posters this week, if you haven’t already received yours, you should receive it soon! You can also print your own copy here.
You can view a map of the free public parking lots here.
Green Ribbon Campaign
April is Be A Donor Month, an annual campaign in support of organ donation. For the last three years, in co-operation with the Town of Orangeville, the Amaranth Lions have hung green ribbons on the lamp posts and on trees along Broadway.
The Amaranth Lions are seeking your help in getting the word out that Organ Donors Save Lives. You can do this by displaying one of their green ribbons during the month of April – for a day, a week, or the whole month. Email Michelle White: firstname.lastname@example.org and read more about this life-saving campaign here.
