To all members,

 This is our last
newsletter until the New Year and I just wanted to thank all of you for your participation, your feedback, and for hanging in for what has been an incredibly tough year! We have a few more difficult months ahead but with any luck, by this time next year we can gather together again, meet for coffee, maybe even give a handshake or hug!  We have challenges ahead, but better days are coming soon! From all of us at the OBIA, we wish you a joyful and peaceful holiday.

SAVE THE DATE!

The OBIA AGM will be held virtually on Wednesday, January 27th 2021 at 7pm.

Holiday Photo Contest

Our Holiday Photo Contest continues right up until December 23rd!  Encourage your customers and staff to pose with the polar bear chair, Christmas tree, or festive storefronts and tag us on Facebook for a chance to win a $50 Downtown Orangeville Gift Certificate!

For every certificate awarded, we are donating $25 to the Food Bank so have some fun and show us your Holiday Spirit!  Thanks to the OBIA Task Force for sponsoring this awesome contest!

Government Funding Now Available

We officially entered the RED-Control zone on December 14th and as such, your business may be eligible for Government funding.   Click here to apply for Ontario’s Main Street Relief Grant, designed to help eligible small businesses with PPE Costs.  Property tax and energy rebates are available through this application as well.

If you have any questions about Ontario’s Main Street Relief Grant Program and available rebates, please call: 416-325-6691 or toll-free:1-855-216-3090.  For the latest COVID-19 updates, visit the business resource page on our website and join us on the OBIA Member Facebook Group where we share the latest news and updates.

Emergency Housing Services and Resources

Let’s do our part to end homelessness in Dufferin County!

I had the opportunity to speak to many of you last week while I was handing out these important cards on behalf of Dufferin County.  These cards list emergency contact information for housing and support organizations in our area.

There is now also a poster available. Should you encounter someone needing assistance, perhaps on your way to work or if someone is frequenting your place of business who needs help, you can make a phone call or hand them a card and let them know that help is available.  If you would like a printed copy of the poster, or if you did not receive any cards and would like some, please contact me ambassador@downtownorangeville.ca

A very Happy Holiday to you and yours!
