Valentine’s Day Colouring Contest, Take-Out Video, Government Support Programs & more!
Welcome February!
We made it through the toughest, coldest month of the year and with kids heading back to school next week and talk of the economy “re-opening soon”, we are feeling optimistic heading into February!

Many of you are delighting your customers with Valentine’s Day Promotions, like special gift packages, service promotions, and tempting menu options and I just wanted to say, well done! It’s not easy reaching customers amidst a Province-wide shutdown and I think our Downtown businesses are doing a fantastic job!

If you have a special promotion coming up, whether it be for Valentine’s Day or maybe a winter clearance sale or online shopping event, please let me know via email, post to the OBIA Member Facebook Page, or tag #downtownorangeville in your posts so that we can help spread the word!

Valentine’s Day Colouring Contest

Loving local is for all ages! That’s why, this month, we’ve partnered with local artist Emma Pink to create a special colouring contest for young artists! Visit our website for full contest details and to download the illustration! Feel free to share with your customers however you can: on social media, in their take-out bags, at your shop counter or curbside!
OBIA Blade Sign Grant Program
Have you always wanted a beautiful hanging sign for your storefront? Now’s your chance! Effective signage is essential for brick & mortar businesses and research shows that blade signs are key to attracting pedestrians.

The OBIA’s Blade Sign Grant will provide up to $635 CAD for the purchase and installation of a new blade sign. The program offers a simplified sign permit process and a reduced permit fee.
Last week we shared the application and further details about the OBIA Blade Sign Grant Program. Please get in touch if you would like more information!

Provincial Government Supports for Small Business
In the ever-changing landscape of COVID-19, it’s hard to keep track of what grant and rebate programs are available. MPP Sylvia Jones has created this quick guide for current available grants. Take a moment to make sure that you are making the most of the help that is available to you and visit: https://www.ontario.ca/page/businesses-get-help-covid-19-costs for full program details.

Everyday is a Great Day for Take-out in Downtown Orangeville – Our Good News Story this Week!

Our latest promotional video shines a spotlight on our Downtown restaurants, check it out here ! This video was made possible thanks to a grant from Innovation Guelph, the support of the Orangeville Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC) and some incredible work by The Art of Storytelling! We hope you’ll take a moment to watch and share, and read some of the amazing comments about our Downtown restaurants & café’s! It certainly made me feel proud to be a part of this amazing community!
