POSITION Part Time Market Assistant (seasonal, contract position) reporting to the Market Coordinator and OBIA General Manager.   PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT You will be required to work outdoors in all weather Saturdays 7 am – 2 pm at the Orangeville Farmers’ Market (OFM) located in Downtown Orangeville from May 8th though October 23rd.  From time to time and with advance notice, you may be asked to begin at 6 am or work in preparation for and/or during other OBIA events at various times throughout the season.   DUTIES Assisting the OFM Coordinator in various duties, including but not limited to: Set-up & tear down of the Farmers’ Market, assisting vendors, greeting shoppers, visitor inquiries, administrative tasks and housekeeping duties, including litter pick up and other duties as required by the OFM Coordinator or OBIA General Manager.   REQUIREMENTS  Ideal candidates would be mature, personable, outgoing and able to lift 30-50 lbs.  A good knowledge of Orangeville and the surrounding area is an asset for dealing with visitor (tourists and new-to-the-area) inquiries.  Previous Farmers’ Market or event experience is also an asset.   REMUNERATION $14.25/hour   APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS  Please submit resumes to info@downtownorangeville.ca.  No drop ins, please.
