As the beginning of September approaches, we anticipate our streets will soon be littered with the warm colours of fall! A time when you can find fresh corn at the Farmers’ Market or at farm stalls just outside of town, when you can have some fun kicking up leaves along your favorite trail, and when start lighting your favourite pumpkin and cinnamon scented candles. This season has us outdoors enjoying our vibrant landscapes and taking beautiful photos. Of course, it also makes us look forward to spooky season that’s just ahead. At the OBIA we are looking forward to our favorite Halloweeny events! Boo on Broadway, The Witches Walk, Trick or Treating and Pumpkin Carving are all only weeks away! Get ready for the season of thrills and chills as we say goodbye to summer and welcome in FALL!

Ontario Workplace Naloxone Training Plus (OWNT+) Program

OWNT+ is offering free training for up to 2 eligible workers through the regular Ontario Workplace Naloxone Training Program. Businesses requesting to train beyond the 2 workers per workplace location please see more information on training 2 employees for free here: Naloxone in the workplace | ontario.ca. OWNT has created and launched an extended branch of the training program offering a paid training option for Ontario businesses looking to train additional staff on Naloxone administration. After completing this training option, participants will receive a certificate via e-mail upon completion of training, satisfying the new OHSA legislation which took effect June 1st, 2023. Sign up for your corporate SJA Account: If you are buying multiple seats (class spots), please create a corporate account on the SJA portal. Once you indicate how many seats you’d like to purchase, you will be prompted to Log in or Sign Up on the portal checkout. In the portal, you can assign the purchased seats to each individual staff member, including the ability to enter their First/Last Name and e-mail address to receive their certificates post-training (Full names and contact information required). Thank you to all our wonderful drink purveyors, restaurants, retailers, and sponsors for making this such incredible event! We hope you had the chance to come out and enjoy the events and/or that you were involved in making it all happen. With over 300+ patrons at our first ever In Good Spirits event and over 2,000+ patrons at Taste of Orangeville, it was an extremely successful weekend. So many came out to enjoy food, drinks, music, shopping and Downtown spirit. Save the date in your calendars for next year, In Good Spirits will be taking place August 16th 2024 and Taste of Orangeville / Shop the Sidewalk will be on August 17th 2024.
